Cobalt Special Electroplated cobalt has rarely been used in the past because of the high cost of bath plating. Dalic cobalt, with properties similar to nickel, is available and being used at present as a wearing surface on the slides of scientific equipment. It has also been used on replaceable anti-cathodes in X-Ray tubes. Is also used to 'cap' repairs on Hydraulic Rams or Chrome Cylinders as the colour match is the closest to Chrome. |
